December exam timetables for the whole university have been published. Intriguing stuff:
Bacterial type III secretion: murder and mayhem in cells
Classical Literature 2a: Erotic Poetry
Discrete-Time Signal Analysis
Experimental Systems in Reproductive Biology - imagine the practicals
Feminist Theology 3/4
Fire Science and Fire Dynamics 4
God in Kant's Critique of Pure Reason 3/4
Horse Behaviour and Welfare
Pain and its Management - again - the practicals
Parasite Biology 3 (Practical) - WTF??
Stress and the Brain
Structural Design and Construction in Medieval and Renaissance Times
Theories of Mind
War and Justice
Makes my good old Sociology 2 sound positively boring and piece-of-cake-y.

Natalie Imbruglia's Torn has always reminded me of Jaska's wistful comment "all I can hear is the 'lying naked on the floor' bit". But who knew that it could be even funnier? Funniest thing ever, in fact. Possibly.
And then join Amnesty, people. You know you should.

Why is Discrete-Time Signal Analysis on the list? It's like puting potatos on a list of weird foods. ;-)
That Torn this was brilliant. Seen it before, but not with Natalia singing at the same time... My favourite part was the real/reel thingy
Mine's 'cold'
So Antti what is it then? In two sentences, please :)
Extraction of information from sequences of numbers. It is useful in devices such as mobile phones, mp3-players, and digital televisions.
What I was thinking is that for a specialist any of those is nothing special, but for the most of us they are quite amusing.
(for instance, parasite biology lab, what's the deal?)
Sure. Still in terms of amusement there's a long way from, say, "Horse Behaviour and Welfare" to, say, "Parasite Biology".
My point was also that "Discrete-Time Signal Analysis" sounds like a basic course that is taken during the first year of studies. Most of the others sound rather more advanced.
