We were hoping to go hillwalking this weekend, but here's the forecast for Saturday:
"Again very difficult walking on higher areas in continued gales; severe wind chill. Wind 30 to perhaps 45mph; gusts 60-70mph. At 900m: 0C but will feel closer to minus 16C directly in wind. Outbreaks of snow – whiteout conditions may well occur. Chance of cloud free Munros 20%. Sunshine unlikely." (My respect and gratitude go to the industrious guardian angels at the Mountain Weather Information Service, who provide the nearest thing to a useful weather report around here.)
So we might end up in a distillery (or two) instead. But it was the elements themselves that forced us.
