Highlights again

Two ladies walking arm-in-arm, both wearing red tartan-patterned wellies.

A man on the street who looked exactly like Vernon Dursley.

Cheap and excellent food at the Malt Whisky Society.

Snow! The hills are looking splendid (the best part of my long commute).

Arthur’s Seat, Salisbury Crags and rooftops silhouetted against the sky, every day several times.

Getting my morning together, so I made the train I meant to take, and could have breakfast and read a paper while on it.

Walking home across the park in an evening, slightly worried about all the big branches being torn off by the wind. Morning’s headlines: 11 dead in the storm.

And finally, welcome to the World of Choices. What I did on Tuesday:
- full day at work
- two hours on the train
- a chat and two pints with a friend
- watched telly and
- read a book in bed.

Meanwhile, M
- was at work.

PS.
A piece of advice for any males who do not wish to appear old and sad:
Never flirt with any female less than half your age (unless, of course, specifically encouraged by the female. Friendliness must not be mistaken for encouragement however, especially if she is working and you are a customer).

Excellent. Now, all we need to know is who is Vernon Dursley.

Haven't you read Harry Potter Jaakko?

JH said...

No. Maybe I should.

Jaska - I don't think we can be your friends anymore.

What if I promise sincerely to learn my Vernon Dursley?

So you think 15-year-olds would be okay for me?

Jaska - ok then. You have until Saturday!

Antti - I didn't think it necessary to add any clauses on legal or other just plain obvious issues... Seriously though. What is it with you men (in the general sense) that makes you think it's welcome?
(And before we get there, I'm sure it would be pretty sad the other way around too, but I've yet to see a woman flirting with a much too young man in any other but obviously jokey-motherly way.)
