The Dog Project advances: we visited three big rescue kennels yesterday. At the Dogs Trust we took a liking to three mutts (you can see Henry and Max if you choose West Calder from the menu), but when talking to staff found out they were all positive hooligans. Cannot really live in the middle of Edinburgh and have a dog that hates men, cars, bicycles, other dogs, or all of these. At the SSPCA they mostly had staffies, which we just do not like. And finally, at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home we only had 15 minutes before closing (after a nourishing lunch at Ikea. Where else), and were a bit overwhelmed by the place - a jail for dogs, as M said. Poor things. Nevertheless, a cutie-pie pointer cross called Kym really caught my eye. In the middle of all the barking from behing bars (the noise and desperation!) M didn't find himself able to form an opinion, but I'll go back tomorrow and take her out of the cell and see what she is really like... Mind, she was a stray, so might not be all that good for us. But at least she'll get a nice walk.
